OK, so there was a photo that I just got today. I don't look like I'm going very fast (are those feet even off the ground?), but hey, isn't it a beautiful day?

Sorry that I haven't posted anything about the triathlon -- I've been waiting for good news and/or photos but nothing after a week, so here it is.

Overall, we did well -- coming in 10th out of almost 200 corporate female teams -- but I lost the timing band (a computer chip in velcro that you wear on your ankle) in the surf and therefore we've been disqualified. We have protested (as they have a finish time for us), however jury is out.

I was stopped by a marshall for awhile in the bike transition (for not having the timing band), and still took over 10 minutes off my time last year, so guess that training paid off!

Anyway, we had a great Easter at Mt Buller and Eildon, so will post some happy snaps of that shortly!

Well, the world's tiniest shorts and tops have arrived, just in time for the triathalon on Sunday. Not sure what Telstra was thinking, but there will be no hiding any bumps this athelete has in the required corporate uniforms. Actually, the cycle top is fantastic and we got another top to wear after we race which is nice as well, so I can cover up some of not so attractive bits.

Not much training left now, just sleeping and eating regular meals to ensure I'm fuelled up for the day.

Will post photos and a full debrief Sunday afternoon (Saturday evening in Canada).

Wish me luck!

Queen of the bale

Had a lovely long weekend at Daylesford, just the two of us. Has been ages since we've been away without friends.

This picture was taken on the 45 acre property where we were staying called Breakneck Gorge. David didn't think I could climb up on the bale . . and of course, I had to prove him wrong (and in my first try!)

Of course, as per other experiences of climbing in my life, it was much easier going up then coming down. I was tempted to try and roll it and keep on top like they do on logs, but I'm pretty sure that would have ended in tears.

More photos of our weekend away here.

Well, here's further evidence I really did get up at 5am and compete in a mini tri on Sunday. Doesn't this look like I'm having fun?

I'm pretty sure this was after I crawled out of the water on all fours . . . and looking soooo attractive in that yellow swim cap (mandatory, so they know what wave I'm in).

Well, lots of questions about how the mini tri went on Sunday. All I can do is quote the Protiviti website.

What is it about the weather at our Brighton races?!! The final race of the 04/05 series saw conditions similar to Race 1 - cold, windy and wild! Yet still our athletes turned out in force, with 720 fronting up at the start line. Special congratulations must go to the many first-timers - we know we've said it before, but it's really not that often that you see people surfing at Brighton Beach - it really does only get easier!!!

Yep, hmmmm, and swimming isn't my strongest leg . . and the Surf Lifesavers pulled out the two girls ahead of me . .

On a positive note -- I scored in the top 50% of all riders (including men) and overall improved significantly over the last mini tri two weeks ago. Only two weeks to go -- hopefully I can continue to improve!

Well, I haven't done much but work and train for the BRW over the last few weeks, hence no updates. The BRW Corporate Triathlon is only a few weeks away, and the team is training hard!

Just so there are no surprises on the day, I'll let you know now that I will be last in my team -- that is a definite. Both Kylie and Victoria are complete athletes (unlike me who is not an athlete), so I'll just be happy to improve on my time for last year.

Have another mini tri tomorrow morning to practice -- ick. Why don't they make these things at a reasonable hour, like 2pm, instead of a 7am start? On a Sunday morning!
